Shipton has collaborated with director [Atom Egoyan](/source/Atom_Egoyan) on eight projects. Her editing credits include *[The Adjuster](/source/The_Adjuster)*, *[Love and Death on Long Island](/source/Love_and_Death_on_Long_Island)*, *[Mr. Nobody](/source/Mr._Nobody_(film))*, *[I Love a Man in Uniform](/source/I_Love_a_Man_in_Uniform_(film))*, *[Foolproof](/source/Foolproof_(film))*, *[When Night Is Falling](/source/When_Night_Is_Falling)*, *[Breakfast with Scot](/source/Breakfast_with_Scot)*, *[Exotica](/source/Exotica_(film))*, *[Where the Truth Lies](/source/Where_the_Truth_Lies)*, *[Long Day's Journey into Night](/source/Long_Day's_Journey_into_Night_(1996_film))*, *[Chloe](/source/Chloe_(2009_film))* and *[The Captive](/source/The_Captive_(2014_film))*. She also wrote, produced, and directed the short film *Hindsight*.

Shipton has been nominated for the [Genie Award for Best Achievement in Editing](/source/Genie_Award_for_Best_Achievement_in_Editing) six times and has won twice, for *[The Sweet Hereafter](/source/The_Sweet_Hereafter_(film))* in 1997 and *[Possible Worlds](/source/Possible_Worlds_(film))* in 2001.[1] She also won the 2005 [Directors Guild of Canada](/source/Directors_Guild_of_Canada) Craft Award for *[Being Julia](/source/Being_Julia)*.

Shipton is a member of the [Canadian Cinema Editors](/source/Canadian_Cinema_Editors)[2] honours society.
