Suresh Dhas is from Jamgaon, [Ashti](/source/Ashti%2C_Beed). == Career ==
Suresh won from the Ashti Assembly constituency representing the Bharatiya Janata Party in the [2024 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election](/source/2024_Maharashtra_Legislative_Assembly_election). He first became an MLA winning the [1999 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election](/source/1999_Maharashtra_Legislative_Assembly_election) representing the BJP and retained it in the [2004 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election](/source/2004_Maharashtra_Legislative_Assembly_election). He won for third time in the [2009 Assembly election](/source/2009_Maharashtra_Legislative_Assembly_election) representing [the Nationalist Congress Party](/source/Nationalist_Congress_Party) and defeated the BJP candidate [Balasaheb Ajabe](/source/Balasaheb_Ajabe) by a margin of 34,690 votes. He lost the next election in 2014 and contested MLC in 2018 for Usamanabad-Latur-Beed Local Authorities & got elected for Maharashtra legislative council.
