**Supercluster** is a recording project that formed during 2007 in [Athens, Georgia](/source/Athens%2C_Georgia). It includes musicians from the Athens bands [New Sound Of Numbers](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=New_Sound_Of_Numbers&action=edit&redlink=1), [Bob Hay & the Jolly Beggars](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Bob_Hay_%26_the_Jolly_Beggars&action=edit&redlink=1), [Casper & the Cookies](/source/Casper_%26_the_Cookies), [of Montreal](/source/Of_Montreal), [Circulatory System](/source/Circulatory_System) and [Pylon](/source/Pylon_(band)), along with [Elephant 6](/source/Elephant_6) recording artist [John Fernandes](/source/John_Fernandes_(musician)).[1] Members presently include [Hannah M. On February 23, 2009, Randy Bewley was driving on Barber Street in Athens when he suffered a heart attack. According to the band Pylon's statement, his van drifted off the road and overturned.[3] He was admitted to [Athens Regional Medical Center](/source/Athens_Regional_Medical_Center) and lapsed into a coma; he died two days later on February 25 when he was removed from life support.[4]

[Bradford Cox](/source/Bradford_Cox) from the group [Deerhunter](/source/Deerhunter) came into Bel*Air studio and helped Supercluster finish the last couple of tracks that needed to be recorded for [Waves](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Waves_(Supercluster_album)&action=edit&redlink=1) which was released October 6, 2009 on [Cloud Recordings](/source/Cloud_Recordings).[5] Live performance guitar duties are now handled by Jason NeSmith and Bryan Poole.
