'''Sunred''' (short for '''''Sun Race Engineering Development S.L.''''') is a [Spanish](/source/Spain)-based [auto racing](/source/auto_racing) team and constructor. They are best known for competing in the [World Touring Car Championship](/source/World_Touring_Car_Championship).

==Racing History==
While in the past Sunred had participated in GT races with the [SEAT Cupra GT](/source/SEAT_Cupra_GT), in the WTCC they made their debut with another [SEAT](/source/SEAT) car at the start of the [2008 season](/source/2008_World_Touring_Car_Championship_season), running [Tom Coronel](/source/Tom_Coronel) in a [SEAT León TFSI](/source/SEAT_Le%C3%B3n) for the full season. They also ran an additional car for the highest points-scorer in the WTCC-supporting [SEAT León Eurocup](/source/SEAT_Le%C3%B3n_Eurocup) at the previous weekend. One of these drivers in 2008 was [Tom Boardman](/source/Tom_Boardman_(racing_driver)), who in 2009 Sunred signed to drive full-time alongside Coronel in their WTCC team.

In [2010](/source/2010_World_Touring_Car_Championship_season), they ran the [SEAT](/source/SEAT_Sport) factory supported '''SR-Sport''' team, with ex-SEAT drivers [Gabriele Tarquini](/source/Gabriele_Tarquini), [Tiago Monteiro](/source/Tiago_Monteiro) and [Jordi Gené](/source/Jordi_Gen%C3%A9) driving León TDIs alongside Coronel. They also ran two TDIs under the Sunred banner for rookies [Michel Nykjær](/source/Michel_Nykj%C3%A6r) and [Fredy Barth](/source/Fredy_Barth).

In [2012](/source/2012_FIA_GT1_World_Championship_season), Sunred was announced to field [Ford GT](/source/Ford_GT)s in the [FIA GT1 World Championship](/source/FIA_GT1_World_Championship).<ref name="Nogaro Sunred">{{cite web | url = http://www.endurance-info.com/version2/actualite-endurance-10128.html | title = Nogaro : Le vendredi matin en bref... | trans-title = Nogaro: Friday Morning in Brief... | publisher = Endurance-Info | work = endurance-info.com | last = Mercier | first = Laurent | language = fr | date = 2012-04-06 | access-date = 2012-04-06 | archive-date = 2012-04-08 | archive-url = https://web.archive.org/web/20120408223253/http://www.endurance-info.com/version2/actualite-endurance-10128.html | url-status = dead }}</ref>

They also run cars in the SEAT León Eurocup and Spanish equivalent, the León Supercopa.

Sunred also build and run the [SunRed SR21](/source/Sun_Red_SR21) in the [International GT Open](/source/International_GT_Open) and [Spanish GT Championship](/source/Spanish_GT_Championship).
