**Sunkesula** is one of the largest [barrages](/source/Barrage_(dam)) across the [Tungabhadra River](/source/Tungabhadra_River) in [Kurnool district](/source/Kurnool_district),[1][2] [Andhra Pradesh](/source/Andhra_Pradesh), [India](/source/India).[3][4] It was built in 1861, during the [British Raj](/source/British_Raj)], for transporting goods on the [K. C. Canal](/source/K._C._Canal).
