**Sundhi** also known as **Sodhi** or **Sundi** or **Sudi** or **Sudhi** or **Shoundika**, is an Indian [caste](/source/Caste) whose traditional occupation has been [brewing](/source/Brewing) of alcoholic drinks.[1][2][3] The Sundhis are included in the [Other Backward Class](/source/Other_Backward_Class) category in the states of [Bihar](/source/Bihar), [Jharkhand](/source/Jharkhand) and [Odisha](/source/Odisha),[4][5][6] though according to Suratha Kumar Malik, Sundhis of [Koraput district](/source/Koraput_district) of [Odisha](/source/Odisha) belong to the [Dalit](/source/Dalit) community, who are [hooch](/source/Moonshine) traders and do small businesses.[7] They are considered as [Scheduled Caste](/source/Scheduled_Caste) in [West Bengal](/source/West_Bengal), where they are also known as [Shunri](/source/Shunri) (except Saha).[8][9][10]
