# Sumer Passage

**Sumer Passage** (Bulgarian: проток Сумер, ‘Protok Sumer’ \'pro-tok su-'mer\) is the 970 m wide passage in the [Palmer Archipelago](/source/Palmer_Archipelago) between [Davis Island](/source/Davis_Island_(Palmer_Archipelago)) on the north and [Albena Peninsula](/source/Albena_Peninsula), [Brabant Island](/source/Brabant_Island) on the south. It connects [Bouquet Bay](/source/Bouquet_Bay) and [Gerlache Strait](/source/Gerlache_Strait), another connection between the two being [Zlogosh Passage](/source/Zlogosh_Passage).

The passage is named after the settlement of [Sumer](/source/Sumer,_Bulgaria) in Northwestern Bulgaria.
