'''Sub Sub''' were an English [dance](/source/dance_music) act from [Handforth](/source/Handforth), [Cheshire](/source/Cheshire) composed of [Jimi Goodwin](/source/Jimi_Goodwin) and twin brothers [Andy](/source/Andy_Williams_(Doves)) and [Jez Williams](/source/Jez_Williams).<ref name="LarkinDM"/>

==History==
The threesome met at school in 1985 and became regulars at [The Haçienda](/source/The_Ha%C3%A7ienda) while composing their own material together. They had an underground [12"](/source/Gramophone_record) [single](/source/single_(music)) ("Space Face" in 1991)<ref name="LarkinDM"/> and moderate commercial success in the early 1990s on [Rob Gretton](/source/Rob_Gretton)'s label [Rob's Records](/source/Rob's_Records),<ref name="LarkinDM"/> including the single "[Ain't No Love (Ain't No Use)](/source/Ain't_No_Love_(Ain't_No_Use))" (featuring guest vocalist [Melanie Williams](/source/Melanie_Williams)) which reached No. 3 on the [UK Singles Chart](/source/UK_Singles_Chart).<ref name="British Hit Singles & Albums">{{cite book

After a fire destroyed their [recording studio](/source/recording_studio) on Blossom Street in the [Ancoats](/source/Ancoats) area of [Manchester](/source/Manchester) on the Williams twins' birthday in 1996, they started as the more [indie](/source/indie_(music))-oriented act [Doves](/source/Doves_(band)) in 1998. An unreleased collection of tracks meant to be featured on the band's second album was issued in 1998 as ''Delta Tapes''.
