==Biography==
===Beginnings===
In 2002, [Cornelius Jakhelln](/source/Cornelius_Jakhelln) began working on a new band. The name chosen was Sturmgeist (Stormspirit in [German](/source/German_language)). The music was an [experimental](/source/experimental_music) mix of [black](/source/black_metal)/[thrash metal](/source/thrash_metal) with lyrics sung in [English](/source/English_language), [Norwegian](/source/Norwegian_language), and [German](/source/German_language) about [Germanic folklore](/source/Germanic_folklore), war, and recitations of [Goethe](/source/Goethe) poetry. On 24 January 2005 Sturmgeist released their first full-length, entitled [Meister Mephisto](/source/Meister_Mephisto) on the record label, [Season Of Mist](/source/Season_Of_Mist).

In support of the album, Cornelius acquired the help of various musicians including [Asgeir Mickelson](/source/Asgeir_Mickelson) of [Borknagar](/source/Borknagar) and [Spiral Architect](/source/Spiral_Architect) fame, for a small [Europe](/source/Europe)an tour. The band played six shows in [France](/source/France), [Belgium](/source/Belgium), [England](/source/England) and [Scotland](/source/Scotland), supporting the [black metal](/source/black_metal) band, [Carpathian Forest](/source/Carpathian_Forest).
===Über===
Starting in October, Sturmgeist began recording their [sequel](/source/sequel) to [Meister Mephisto](/source/Meister_Mephisto) in [Børge Finstad](/source/B%C3%B8rge_Finstad)'s [Top Room studios](/source/Top_Room_studios). The band was now no longer a solo band, with John "Panzer" Jacobsen, guitarist on the tour, now filling the position as an official guitarist in the band and [Anti Christian](/source/Christian_Svendsen_(musician)) of [Tsjuder](/source/Tsjuder), [Grimfist](/source/Grimfist) and [The Cumshots](/source/The_Cumshots) fame playing drums on the new album. The album is entitled [Über](/source/%C3%9Cber_(album)) and was released on 16 October 2006 through [Season Of Mist](/source/Season_Of_Mist) in [Europe](/source/Europe), and on October 17 in [North America](/source/North_America).
