On Monday 21 April 1941 at 2.35am, [Fairey Battle](/source/Fairey_Battle) 'P6674', of 12 FTS, was shot down, with 23 year old instructor Ralph Kilbuern of Coventry, and 19 year old Anthony Foster.<ref>''Coventry Evening Telegraph'' Saturday 3 May 1941, page 5</ref> It was shot down by Feldwebel [Hans Hahn (night fighter pilot)](/source/Hans_Hahn_(night_fighter_pilot)) in a [Junkers Ju 88](/source/Junkers_Ju_88) of [NJG 3](/source/Nachtjagdgeschwader_3) from [Gilze-Rijen Air Base](/source/Gilze-Rijen_Air_Base) in Netherlands.<ref>https://asn.flightsafety.org/wikibase/224123 April 1941]</ref> Another Fairey Battle was shot down over [Little Ponton](/source/Little_Ponton) 18 May 1941, around the same time of night.<ref>[https://asn.flightsafety.org/wikibase/225156 May 1941]</ref> Hahn was later shot down over Grantham in October 1941.
