The '''Straussee''' is a German [lake](/source/lake) located in [Strausberg](/source/Strausberg), [Brandenburg](/source/Brandenburg). It is situated about {{convert|30|km}} north-east of the city of [Berlin](/source/Berlin). The town of Strausberg occupies the eastern shore of the lake, whilst the forest of the Strausberger Forest is on the western shore.

The lake is approximately {{convert|3.8|km}} long and {{convert|600|m}} wide, with an average depth of {{convert|9.9|m}} and a maximum depth of {{convert|20|m}}. It is crossed in its middle by the [Straussee Ferry](/source/Straussee_Ferry), an unusual electrically propelled passenger [cable ferry](/source/cable_ferry).{{citation needed|date=August 2013}}

The lake is relatively rich in fish, and is popular with both [anglers](/source/Recreational_fishing) and commercial [fishermen](/source/fisherman). It contains populations of [northern pike](/source/northern_pike), [zander](/source/zander), [eel](/source/eel), [crayfish](/source/crayfish), [burbot](/source/burbot), various species of [perch](/source/perch), and [carp](/source/carp).
