**Strandlykkja Church** ([Norwegian](/source/Norwegian_language): *Strandlykkja kirke*) is a [parish church](/source/Parish_church) of the [Church of Norway](/source/Church_of_Norway) in [Stange Municipality](/source/Stange_Municipality) in [Innlandet](/source/Innlandet) county, [Norway](/source/Norway). It is located in the village of [Strandlykkja](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Strandlykkja&action=edit&redlink=1). It is one of the churches for the Tangen [parish](/source/Parish) which is part of the [Hamar domprosti](/source/Hamar_domprosti) ([deanery](/source/Deanery)) in the [Diocese of Hamar](/source/Diocese_of_Hamar). The brown, wooden church was built in a [long church](/source/Long_church) design in 1915 using plans drawn up by the [architect](/source/Architect) [Haldor Børve](/source/Haldor_B%C3%B8rve). The church seats about 90 people.[1][2]

## History

By the early 20th century, plans were made to build a chapel in Strandlykkja in the far southern part of the municipality. The building was designed by [Haldor Børve](/source/Haldor_B%C3%B8rve) and is located on a plot of land that was donated by Berte Marie Strandløkken, the owner of the Strandløkken farm. The church is a [stave church](/source/Stave_church)-inspired [long church](/source/Long_church) with seating for about 90 people. The new chapel was [consecrated](/source/Consecrated) on 12 August 1915. The chapel was originally designated as an [annex chapel](/source/Annex_chapel) under the nearby [Tangen Church](/source/Tangen_Church) and it was titled Strandlykkja Chapel. In 2015, the chapel was upgraded to [parish church](/source/Parish_church) status and re-titled as Strandlykkja Church.[3][4]
