'''Stockton Hall''' is a building on the campus of [George Washington University](/source/George_Washington_University) in [Washington, D.C.](/source/Washington%2C_D.C.)  It was listed on the District of Columbia Inventory of Historic Sites in 1987 and on the [National Register of Historic Places](/source/National_Register_of_Historic_Places) in 1991.<ref name="nris"/>

==History==
The building was designed by [Albert L. Harris](/source/Albert_L._Harris) and [Arthur B. Heaton](/source/Arthur_B._Heaton) in the [Colonial Revival](/source/Colonial_Revival_architecture) style and completed in 1926.  Wardman Construction Company built the structure.  It was the second building built on the [Foggy Bottom](/source/Foggy_Bottom) campus after [Corcoran Hall](/source/Corcoran_Hall).<ref name= gwu>{{cite web|url= http://encyclopedia.gwu.edu/gwencyclopedia/index.php?title=Stockton_Hall |title= Stockton Hall |publisher= George Washington University |access-date=2012-03-22}}</ref>  The structure is named after [Charles Herbert Stockton](/source/Charles_Herbert_Stockton), a [Rear Admiral](/source/Rear_admiral_(United_States)) in the [United States Navy](/source/United_States_Navy) who served as the GW President from 1910 to 1918.  It serves the [George Washington University Law School](/source/George_Washington_University_Law_School).

==Architecture==
Stockton Hall is a concrete and steel frame structure covered in red brick and [sandstone](/source/sandstone).  A [cupola](/source/cupola) is featured in the center of the roof.  It is similar in style to Corcoran Hall, across University Yard to the west.<ref name= gwu/>  It rises four-stories from the ground.  The building is flanked by two classroom buildings that were built in the [post modern](/source/post_modern_architecture) style.
