***Stigmella saginella*** is a [moth](/source/Moth) of the family [Nepticulidae](/source/Nepticulidae). It is found in North America in [Ohio](/source/Ohio), [New York](/source/New_York_(state)), [Virginia](/source/Virginia), [Massachusetts](/source/Massachusetts), [Illinois](/source/Illinois), [Missouri](/source/Missouri), [Pennsylvania](/source/Pennsylvania), [Kentucky](/source/Kentucky), [California](/source/California), [Ontario](/source/Ontario) and [Quebec](/source/Quebec).

The [wingspan](/source/Wingspan) is 4–5.5 mm.

The larvae feed on *[Quercus](/source/Quercus)* species, including *[Q. prinus](/source/Quercus_prinus)*, *[Q. platanoides](/source/Quercus_platanoides)* and *[Q. alba](/source/Quercus_alba)*. They [mine](/source/Leafminer) the leaves of their host plant.
