# Stigmella roborella

***Stigmella roborella*** is a [moth](/source/Moth) of the family [Nepticulidae](/source/Nepticulidae). It is found throughout Europe and in south-west Asia. In Europe, it has been recorded from nearly every country, except [Albania](/source/Albania), [Belarus](/source/Belarus), [Bosnia and Herzegovina](/source/Bosnia_and_Herzegovina), [Bulgaria](/source/Bulgaria), [Ireland](/source/Ireland), [Moldova](/source/Moldova), [Portugal](/source/Portugal), [Romania](/source/Romania) and [Yugoslavia](/source/Yugoslavia).[2] It has recently been recorded from [Georgia](/source/Georgia_(country)), [Macedonia](/source/Macedonia_(region)) and [Turkey](/source/Turkey).

The [wingspan](/source/Wingspan) is 5–7 millimetres (0.20–0.28 in). Adults are on wing from April to September.[3]

The larvae feed on *[Quercus castaneifolia](/source/Quercus_castaneifolia)*, *[Quercus cerris](/source/Quercus_cerris)*, *[Quercus petraea](/source/Quercus_petraea)*, *[Quercus pubescens](/source/Quercus_pubescens)*, *[Quercus robur](/source/Quercus_robur)* and *[Quercus rubra](/source/Quercus_rubra)*. They [mine the leaves](/source/Leaf_miner) of their host plant.[4]
