# Stigmella freyella

***Stigmella freyella*** is a [moth](/source/Moth) of the family [Nepticulidae](/source/Nepticulidae). It is found from the [Netherlands](/source/Netherlands) to the [Baltic region](/source/Baltic_region) and [Russia](/source/Russia), southwards to the [Mediterranean region](/source/Mediterranean_region). It is also found in [North Africa](/source/North_Africa).[1]

The [wingspan](/source/Wingspan) is 4–5 millimetres (0.16–0.20 in). In Central Europe there are two generations per year.[2]

The larvae feed on *[Calystegia sepium](/source/Calystegia_sepium)*, *[Calystegia soldanella](/source/Calystegia_soldanella)*, *[Convolvulus althaeoides](/source/Convolvulus_althaeoides)*, *[Convolvulus arvensis](/source/Convolvulus_arvensis)* and *[Convolvulus elegans](/source/Convolvulus_elegans)*. They mine the leaves of their host plant.[3]
