# Stig Westergaard

Danish sailor

**Stig Westergaard** (born 16 September 1963 in [Esbjerg](/source/Esbjerg)) is a Danish Olympic sailor in the [Finn](/source/Finn_(dinghy)) and [Soling classes](/source/Soling). Westergaard competed in the 1992 and [1996 Summer Olympics](/source/1996_Summer_Olympics).[1]

He has twice sailed the [Volvo Ocean Race](/source/Volvo_Ocean_Race); in 2001–02 on *[Djuice Dragons](/source/Djuice_Dragons)* and in 2008–09 on *[Kosatka](/source/Team_Russia)*.

He is the brother of [Bjørn Westergaard](/source/Bj%C3%B8rn_Westergaard).[1] His son [Magnus Westergaard](/source/Magnus_Westergaard) is a professional [footballer](/source/Association_football).[2]
