# Steve March

**Steve March** is an American politician and auditor.

## Career

March entered political life as an appointee to the Oregon [Hanford Site](/source/Hanford_Site) Cleanup Board (OHCB)[2] in 2002 by [Governor Kitzhaber](/source/Governor_Kitzhaber), ending his term in 2006.[citation needed] He later came back to the board in 2013, finally leaving in 2021.[3] He also served on the [Oregon Department of Energy](/source/Oregon_Department_of_Energy) audit committee.[4]

He has also worked at the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, [Portland State University](/source/Portland_State_University) as the chief budgetary and accounting officer.[citation needed] He served as the elected [Multnomah County](/source/Multnomah_County,_Oregon) auditor from 2009 to 2019.[5][6][7] He owns a farm and is the founder of [Smarsh](/source/Smarsh).[citation needed]
