# Steve Dreyer

**Steven William Dreyer** (born November 19, 1969) is an American former professional [baseball](/source/Baseball) [pitcher](/source/Pitcher). He played in [Major League Baseball](/source/Major_League_Baseball) (MLB) from 1993 to 1994 for the [Texas Rangers](/source/Texas_Rangers_(baseball)).

## Career

Dreyer was drafted by the [Texas Rangers](/source/Texas_Rangers_(baseball)) in the 8th round, with the 219th overall selection, of the [1990 Major League Baseball draft](/source/1990_Major_League_Baseball_draft). His career highlight was coming out of the [bullpen](/source/Bullpen) in relief of [Nolan Ryan](/source/Nolan_Ryan) in his final major-league appearance on September 22, 1993.

## Personal life

Dreyer currently teaches physical education at Rogers Elementary School in [Marshalltown, Iowa](/source/Marshalltown,_Iowa).[1]

His son, [Jack](/source/Jack_Dreyer), pitched for the [University of Iowa](/source/University_of_Iowa) and currently plays with the [Los Angeles Dodgers](/source/Los_Angeles_Dodgers).[2][3]
