# Steve Ache

**Stephen J. Ache** (March 16, 1962 - September 20, 2022) was an American professional [football](/source/American_football) player who played as a [linebacker](/source/Linebacker).[1][2] Born in [Syracuse, New York](/source/Syracuse,_New_York), he attended [Southwest Missouri State](/source/Missouri_State_Bears_football) before playing in the [National Football League](/source/National_Football_League) (NFL) for the [Minnesota Vikings](/source/Minnesota_Vikings) during the [1987 NFLPA strike](/source/1987_NFL_season).[3][4]
