# Stephen Dowdall

**Stephen Dowdall** (born in [Navan](/source/Navan)) was an [Irish](/source/Irish_people) clergyman and [bishop](/source/Bishop) for the [Roman Catholic Diocese of Kildare and Leighlin](/source/Roman_Catholic_Diocese_of_Kildare_and_Leighlin).[1] He became ordained in 1733. He was appointed bishop in 1734.[2] He died in 1737.[3]
