# Stenhouse Bluff

**Stenhouse Bluff** ([62°4′S 58°24′W / 62.067°S 58.400°W / -62.067; -58.400](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?pagename=Stenhouse_Bluff&params=62_4_S_58_24_W_)) is a southern face of a rocky knoll at the head of [Visca Anchorage](/source/Visca_Anchorage), [Admiralty Bay](/source/Admiralty_Bay_(South_Shetland_Islands)), on [King George Island](/source/King_George_Island_(Antarctica)) in the [South Shetland Islands](/source/South_Shetland_Islands). First charted by the [French Antarctic Expedition](/source/French_Antarctic_Expedition), 1908–10, under Charcot. Named for Commander [Joseph Stenhouse](/source/Joseph_Stenhouse), [Royal Navy Reserve](/source/Royal_Navy_Reserve), captain of the [RRS Discovery](/source/RRS_Discovery) in these waters in 1927.
