# Steel Arm Dickey

**Walter Claude "Steel Arm" Dickey** (June 2, 1896 – March 11, 1923) was a [Negro leagues](/source/Negro_league_baseball) [pitcher](/source/Pitcher) for the first [Negro Southern League](/source/Negro_Southern_League_(1920%E2%80%9336)) and [Negro National League](/source/Negro_National_League_(1920-1931)).

Dickey had a short career, dying at the age of 26 in [Etowah, Tennessee](/source/Etowah,_Tennessee).

Dickey was buried in the New Zion Cemetery in Etowah, Tennessee.[1]
