# Staufenberg, Lower Saxony

**Staufenberg** (ˈʃtaʊfn̩ˌbɛʁk) is the southernmost municipality of the [district of Göttingen](/source/G%C3%B6ttingen_(district)), and of [Lower Saxony](/source/Lower_Saxony), [Germany](/source/Germany). It is situated east of the river [Fulda](/source/Fulda_River), approx. 6 km south of [Hannoversch Münden](/source/Hannoversch_M%C3%BCnden), and 12 km northeast of [Kassel](/source/Kassel). Its seat is in the village Landwehrhagen.
