**Starrer** (foaled April 2, 1998 in Kentucky) is an American millionaire [Thoroughbred racemare](/source/Thoroughbred_racing) who was purchased as a yearling for $35,000 by [George Krikorian](/source/George_Krikorian), a [Southern California](/source/Southern_California) [movie theater](/source/Movie_theater) mogul and member of the [California Horse Racing Board](/source/California_Horse_Racing_Board).

Trained by [David Hofmans](/source/David_Hofmans) throughout 2001, in the spring of 2002 Krikorian replaced him with [John Shirreffs](/source/John_Shirreffs).[1]

Starrer was retired from racing having won five graded stakes including the Grade 1 [Santa Margarita Invitational](/source/Santa_Margarita_Stakes) and [Santa Maria Handicaps](/source/Santa_Maria_Handicap). [2][3]
