**Stanislav Rumenov Yanevski** ([Bulgarian](/source/Bulgarian_language): Станислав Руменов Яневски, pronounced [\[stɐniˈsɫaf ˈjanɛfski\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA/Bulgarian); born 16 May 1985) is a Bulgarian actor. He is best known for playing [Viktor Krum](/source/Viktor_Krum) in the 2005 fantasy film *[Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire](/source/Harry_Potter_and_the_Goblet_of_Fire_(film))*.

## Biography

Yanevski was born on 16 May 1985 in [Sofia](/source/Sofia). He lived in [England](/source/England) for five years[1] as well as in [Israel](/source/Israel). While attending [Mill Hill School](/source/Mill_Hill_School) in the [United Kingdom](/source/United_Kingdom) with fellow *Harry Potter* actor [Harry Melling](/source/Harry_Melling_(actor)), Ianevski had no particular acting aspirations and was not a drama student. He had only auditioned for *[Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire](/source/Harry_Potter_and_the_Goblet_of_Fire_(film))* after being spotted by [Fiona Weir](/source/Fiona_Weir), a casting director who prompted him to attend an acting workshop, which resulted in his casting as [Viktor Krum](/source/Viktor_Krum), a Bulgarian character in the *[Harry Potter](/source/Harry_Potter)* series. He was selected from 650 others, most of whom had auditioned in Sofia. He also starred in *[Hostel: Part II](/source/Hostel%3A_Part_II)*, the sequel to [Eli Roth](/source/Eli_Roth)'s film *[Hostel](/source/Hostel_(2005_film))*.
