# St. Methodius Peak

**St. Methodius Peak** (Bulgarian: връх Св. Методий, ˈvrɤx svɛˈti mɛˈtɔdij) rises to approximately 1,180m in [Friesland Ridge](/source/Friesland_Ridge), [Tangra Mountains](/source/Tangra_Mountains), [Livingston Island](/source/Livingston_Island), [Antarctica](/source/Antarctica) and surmounts [Ruen Icefall](/source/Ruen_Icefall) to the north-northwest, [Prespa Glacier](/source/Prespa_Glacier) to the southeast and [Charity Glacier](/source/Charity_Glacier) to the southwest. Linked to [St. Cyril Peak](/source/St._Cyril_Peak) by [Vladaya Saddle](/source/Vladaya_Saddle).

The peak is named after [St. Methodius](/source/Saint_Methodius_of_Thessaloniki) (815-885 AD).

## Location

The peak is located at [62°42′57″S 60°14′47″W](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=62_42_57_S_60_14_47_W), which is 5.89 km south-southwest of [Mount Friesland](/source/Mount_Friesland), 1.97 km southwest of [St. Cyril Peak](/source/St._Cyril_Peak), 3.24 km north-northwest of [Gela Point](/source/Gela_Point), 3.83 km east of [Canetti Peak](/source/Canetti_Peak) and 6.37 km south-southeast of [Napier Peak](/source/Napier_Peak) (Bulgarian topographic survey in 1995/96, and mapping in 2005 and 2009).
