From [1957](/source/1957_in_baseball) through [1965](/source/1965_in_baseball), the '''Springfield Giants''' were the [Single-A and Double-A](/source/minor_league_baseball) baseball team affiliate of the [New York/San Francisco Giants](/source/San_Francisco_Giants) in the [Eastern League](/source/Eastern_League_(1938%E2%80%932020)). The team played at [Pynchon Park](/source/Pynchon_Park) in [Springfield, Massachusetts](/source/Springfield%2C_Massachusetts).

The Springfield Giants won three consecutive championships in 1959, 1960 (co-champs) and 1961 under [manager](/source/manager_(baseball)) [Andy Gilbert](/source/Andy_Gilbert), all leading the way to San Francisco's [National League](/source/National_League_(baseball)) pennant in [1962](/source/1962_in_baseball).
