# Spring Grove, Missouri

**Spring Grove** is an [unincorporated community](/source/Unincorporated_area#United_States) in [Dallas County](/source/Dallas_County,_Missouri), in the [U.S. state](/source/U.S._state) of [Missouri](/source/Missouri).[1] The community is situated on [Missouri Route H](/source/Missouri_Route_H) and the [Niangua River](/source/Niangua_River) flows past, about 1.5 miles to the east. [Buffalo](/source/Buffalo,_Missouri) is approximately six miles to the north-northwest.[2]

## History

A post office called Spring Grove was established in 1854, and remained in operation until 1906.[3] A spring within a nearby grove accounts for the name.[4]
