**Spjelkavik Church** ([Norwegian](/source/Norwegian_language): *Spjelkavik kyrkje*) is a [parish church](/source/Parish_church) of the [Church of Norway](/source/Church_of_Norway) in [Ålesund Municipality](/source/%C3%85lesund_Municipality) in [Møre og Romsdal](/source/M%C3%B8re_og_Romsdal) county, [Norway](/source/Norway). It is located in the borough of [Spjelkavik](/source/Spjelkavik) on the western end of the island of [Uksenøya](/source/Uksen%C3%B8ya). It is the church for the Spjelkavik [parish](/source/Parish) which is part of the [Nordre Sunnmøre prosti](/source/Nordre_Sunnm%C3%B8re_prosti) ([deanery](/source/Deanery)) in the [Diocese of Møre](/source/Diocese_of_M%C3%B8re). The brick church was built in a [hexagonal](/source/Churches_in_Norway#Floor_plan) design in 1987 using plans drawn up by the [architect](/source/Architect) [Alf Apalseth](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Alf_Apalseth&action=edit&redlink=1). The church seats about 500 people.[1][2][3]
