# Spilios Livanos

**Spilios Livanos** (Greek: Σπήλιος Λιβανός; born 20 September 1967)[1] is a [Greek](/source/Greece) politician. On 5 January 2021, he was appointed [Minister for Rural Development and Food](/source/Ministry_of_Rural_Development_and_Food_(Greece)) in the [cabinet](/source/First_Cabinet_of_Kyriakos_Mitsotakis) of Prime Minister [Kyriakos Mitsotakis](/source/Kyriakos_Mitsotakis).[2][3] He resigned on 7 February 2022, after footage emerged of controversial remarks he had made about the [2007 Greek forest fires](/source/2007_Greek_forest_fires).[4]
