**Spiesen-Elversberg** (ˈʃpiːzn̩ ˈʔɛlvɐsbɛʁk) is a municipality in the [district of Neunkirchen](/source/Neunkirchen_(German_district)), in [Saarland](/source/Saarland), Germany. It is situated approximately 4 km (2.5 mi) southwest of [Neunkirchen](/source/Neunkirchen,_Saarland), and 15 km (9.3 mi) northeast of [Saarbrücken](/source/Saarbr%C3%BCcken).

## Sport

[SV Elversberg](/source/SV_Elversberg) is a professional [association football](/source/Association_football) club which currently plays its home matches at the [Waldstadion an der Kaiserlinde](/source/Waldstadion_an_der_Kaiserlinde).[2] The team has experienced success in recent years, rising three tiers in the [German football league system](/source/German_football_league_system). It won promotion to the [1. Bundesliga](/source/1._Bundesliga) for the first time in their history from next season after finishing runner-up at the [2025–26 2. Bundesliga](/source/2025%E2%80%9326_2._Bundesliga).[3] It is currently the highest ranked team in [Saarland](/source/Saarland), having surpassed [1. FC Saarbrücken](/source/1._FC_Saarbr%C3%BCcken) in 2023.
