{{Short description|Ancient Athenian deme}}
'''Sphettus''' or '''Sphettos''' ({{langx|grc|Σφηττός}})<ref>{{Cite Stephanus|''s.v.''}}</ref> was one of the twelve cities of [ancient Attica](/source/ancient_Attica), and subsequently a [deme](/source/deme). That it was situated either in the [Mesogaea](/source/Mesogaea) or the [Paralia](/source/Paralia_(Attica)) is certain from the legend, that [Pallas](/source/Pallas_(son_of_Pandion)), who had obtained these districts, marched upon [Athens](/source/ancient_Athens) from Sphettus by the Sphettian Way.<ref>[Plato](/source/Plato), ''Thes.'' 13; Philochor. ap. Schol. ad Eurip. Hipp. 35.</ref> There are good reasons for believing that Pallas must have marched round the northern extremity of [Hymettus](/source/Hymettus); and consequently the Sphettian road must have taken that course.

The site of Sphettus has been located northwest of [Koropi](/source/Koropi) below Christos chapel.<ref>{{Barrington Atlas|page=59}}</ref><ref>{{Cite DARE|31192}}</ref>
