Spheciformes includes all the members of the superfamily [Apoidea](/source/Apoidea) which are not [bee](/source/bee)s and which in older classifications were called the "'''Sphecoidea'''". The group includes familiar types of wasps such as [mud dauber](/source/mud_dauber)s, [digger wasps](/source/Sphex), [sand wasps](/source/Bembicidae), [cicada killer](/source/cicada_killer)s, and [cockroach wasps](/source/Ampulicidae).
