# Spare Me Records

**Spare Me Records** was an [independent record label](/source/Independent_record_label) based in [Williamsburg, New York](/source/Williamsburg,_New_York), active between [1996](/source/1996_in_music) and [2002](/source/2002_in_music). It specialized in supporting and internationally releasing albums by local (i.e., [New York](/source/New_York_(state))) talent, but released work by non-locals, as well.

Spare Me released music by such artists as [M Coast](/source/M_Coast), [Pumpernickel](/source/Pumpernickel_(band)), Gem w/[Jenny Mae](/source/Jenny_Mae), [Sinkcharmer](/source/Sinkcharmer), [Bevis Frond](/source/Bevis_Frond), [The Original Sins](/source/The_Original_Sins), [Swearing at Motorists](/source/Swearing_at_Motorists), [Espadrille](/source/Swimmeret_(album)), and [The Gerbils](/source/The_Gerbils). It also released the *[As Seen on TV](/source/As_Seen_on_TV_(album))* compilation album.
