**Sory Kaba** (born 28 July 1995) is a Guinean professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who plays as a [forward](/source/Forward_(association_football)) for [OH Leuven](/source/Oud-Heverlee_Leuven), and the [Guinea national team](/source/Guinea_national_football_team).

## Club career

Born in [Conakry](/source/Conakry), Kaba moved to Spain at early age and joined [Alcobendas CF](/source/Alcobendas_CF)'s youth setup in September 2012. He made his senior debut during the 2013–14 season, helping in their promotion to [Tercera División](/source/Tercera_Divisi%C3%B3n).[1]

On 29 January 2016, Kaba joined [Elche CF](/source/Elche_CF), being assigned to [the reserves](/source/Elche_CF_Ilicitano) also in the fourth tier.[2] On 13 May of the following year he made his first team debut, coming on as a second-half [substitute](/source/Substitute_(association_football)) for [Álex Fernández](/source/%C3%81lex_Fern%C3%A1ndez_(footballer%2C_born_1992)) in a 1–0 [Segunda División](/source/Segunda_Divisi%C3%B3n) home loss against [CD Mirandés](/source/CD_Mirand%C3%A9s).[3]

Kaba scored his first professional goal on 28 May 2017, netting the equalizer in a 1–1 home draw against [CF Reus Deportiu](/source/CF_Reus_Deportiu). On 29 July, after [suffering relegation](/source/2016%E2%80%9317_Segunda_Divisi%C3%B3n), he extended his contract for three years and was definitely promoted to the first team.[4]

On 31 January 2019, the last day of the 2018–19 winter transfer window, Kaba signed with [Ligue 1](/source/Ligue_1) side [Dijon FCO](/source/Dijon_FCO) having agreed a 4+1⁄2-year contract. The club paid a €4 million transfer fee to Elche triggering a release clause.[5]

On 5 July 2019, [Danish Superliga](/source/Danish_Superliga) club [FC Midtjylland](/source/FC_Midtjylland) announced that they had signed Kaba on a five-year contract.[6] On 31 August 2021, Kaba moved to [Belgian First Division A](/source/Belgian_First_Division_A) club [OH Leuven](/source/Oud-Heverlee_Leuven) on loan for the [2021–22 season](/source/2021%E2%80%9322_Oud-Heverlee_Leuven_season). OH Leuven secured an option to sign him permanently.[7] On 1 June it was confirmed that Kaba was returning to Midtjylland, as the Belgian club had decided not to exercise the option to buy the striker.[8]

On 31 January 2023, the last day of the winter transfer window, Kaba joined [EFL Championship](/source/EFL_Championship) club [Cardiff City](/source/Cardiff_City_F.C.) on loan until the end of the season.[9]

On 17 August 2023, Kaba officially joined [La Liga](/source/La_Liga) club [UD Las Palmas](/source/UD_Las_Palmas) for a reported fee of over €2 million,[10] signing a four-year contract with the club.[10][11] On 30 August of the following year, he returned to former side Elche on a one-year loan deal.[12]

## International career

Kaba was first called up for the [Guinea national team](/source/Guinea_national_football_team) on 25 September 2017, for a [2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers](/source/2018_FIFA_World_Cup_qualification_(CAF)) against [Tunisia](/source/Tunisia_national_football_team).[13] He made his full international debut on 7 October, replacing [Demba Camara](/source/Demba_Camara) in the 4–1 loss.[14]

In January 2022, he was selected by selection [Kaba Diawara](/source/Kaba_Diawara) to participate in the [2021 Africa Cup of Nations](/source/2021_Africa_Cup_of_Nations) in [Cameroon](/source/Cameroon).[15]
