==Solopaca DOC==
[Italian wine](/source/Italian_wine), both red and white, under the Solopaca [DOC appellation](/source/DOC_appellation) comes from this area in the hillside vineyards along the [Calore River](/source/Calore_River). Grapes destined for DOC production must be [harvested](/source/harvested_(wine)) to a maximum [yield](/source/yield_(wine)) of 13 [tonnes](/source/tonnes)/[hectare](/source/hectare) for red [grape varieties](/source/grape_varieties) and 15 tonnes/ha for white grape varieties. The finished wines need to be [fermented](/source/fermented_(wine)) to a minimum [alcohol level](/source/alcohol_level) of 11.5% for reds and 12% for whites.<ref name="Saunders">P. Red Solopaca wine is a blend of 45-60% [Sangiovese](/source/Sangiovese), 10-20% [Aglianico](/source/Aglianico), 20-25% [Piedirosso](/source/Piedirosso) and/or [Sciascinoso](/source/Sciascinoso) and up to 10% of other local red grape varieties permitted to fill in the remainder of the blend. The white wines are produced from 50 to 70% [Trebbiano](/source/Trebbiano), 20-40% [Malvasia di Candia](/source/Malvasia_di_Candia), [Malvasia Toscana](/source/Malvasia_Toscana) and/or [Coda di Volpe](/source/Coda_di_Volpe) with other local white grape varieties permitted up to 10%.<ref name="Saunders"/>
