# Solomon Teff

**Solomon Teff** was a solicitor and the president of the [Board of Deputies of British Jews](/source/Board_of_Deputies_of_British_Jews) from 1964[1][2][3] to 1967.[4][5] He was a member of the [Hove Hebrew Congregation](/source/Hove_Hebrew_Congregation) in [Brighton and Hove](/source/Brighton_and_Hove).[6]

Teff became acting president of the Board of Deputies upon the death of [Abraham Moss](/source/Abraham_Moss)[3][7] and was succeeded by [Michael Fidler](/source/Michael_Fidler).[4] In 1964, as head of the Board of Deputies he spoke before the [Twenty-Sixth Zionist Congress](/source/World_Zionist_Congress) praising [British Jews](/source/British_Jews) who [migrated to Israel](/source/Aliyah).[8]

Teff died in 1979.[9]
