**Sofia Lundgren** (born 20 September 1982) is a [Swedish](/source/Swedes) former [footballer](/source/Association_football) who played as a [goalkeeper](/source/Goalkeeper_(association_football)).

She has formerly played for leading Swedish teams such as [Umeå IK](/source/Ume%C3%A5_IK) and [AIK](/source/AIK_Fotboll_(women)) before signing a two-year contract with [Linköpings FC](/source/Link%C3%B6pings_FC) in the autumn of 2008.[2]

Since making her national team debut in a 6–3 win over [England](/source/England_women's_national_football_team) in March 2002, Lundgren competed with [Caroline Jönsson](/source/Caroline_J%C3%B6nsson), [Hedvig Lindahl](/source/Hedvig_Lindahl) and latterly [Kristin Hammarström](/source/Kristin_Hammarstr%C3%B6m) for the goalkeeper position.

When Lundgren was injured before the tournament, [Maja Åström](/source/Maja_%C3%85str%C3%B6m) was drafted into Sweden's squad for [UEFA Women's Euro 2005](/source/UEFA_Women's_Euro_2005) as the third choice goalkeeper.[3]

A back injury kept a frustrated Lundgren out of Sweden's [2013 Algarve Cup](/source/2013_Algarve_Cup) squad.[4] The injury eventually kept Lundgren out of all football for one-and-a-half seasons. She signed for [Damallsvenskan](/source/Damallsvenskan) newcomers [Hammarby IF DFF](/source/Hammarby_Fotboll_(women)) in January 2015.[5] At the beginning of the 2016 season Lundgren signed a short-term contract with Swedish champions [FC Rosengård](/source/FC_Roseng%C3%A5rd). The contract was extended when Rosengård's first choice goalkeeper [Erin McLeod](/source/Erin_McLeod) suffered an [anterior cruciate ligament injury](/source/Anterior_cruciate_ligament_injury) and [Zećira Mušović](/source/Ze%C4%87ira_Mu%C5%A1ovi%C4%87) struggled to overcome a broken arm.[6]
