A '''soccer robot''' is a specialized [autonomous robot](/source/autonomous_robot) and [mobile robot](/source/mobile_robot) that is used to play variants of [football.](/source/Association_football)

The main organised competitions are the annual [RoboCup](/source/RoboCup) and [FIRA](/source/Federation_of_International_Robot-soccer_Association) (Federation of International Robot-Soccer Association) tournaments.

==Leagues==
The RoboCup contest currently has a number of football leagues:
* [Standard Platform League](/source/RoboCup_Standard_Platform_League) (formerly Four Legged League)
** [Small Size League](/source/RoboCup_Small_Size_League)
** [Middle Size League](/source/RoboCup_Middle_Size_League)
** [Simulation League](/source/RoboCup_Simulation_League)
*** [2D Soccer Simulation](/source/RoboCup_2D_Soccer_Simulation_League)
*** [3D Soccer Simulation](/source/RoboCup_3D_Soccer_Simulation_League)
* Humanoid League

Additionally, there is a [RoboCupJunior](/source/RoboCup_Junior) league for younger students.

The [qfix](/source/qfix) football robot "Terminator" is an omnidrive robot that can be used for [RoboCup Junior](/source/RoboCup_Junior). It includes a kicker and a dribbler as well as a [controller board](/source/controller_board) with Atmel [controller](/source/Microcontroller).

The robot can be programmed using the GNU [GCC](/source/GNU_Compiler_Collection) compiler.

== Graupner RC-SOCCERBOT ==
The [Graupner](/source/Graupner_GmbH) "[RC-SOCCERBOT](/source/RC-SOCCERBOT)" is a mobile robot platform developed by [qfix](/source/qfix_robot_kit) which can be used as a radio-controller toy playing soccer with ping-pong balls. Gaining more experience in robotics the user can also implement C++ programs on the robot.<ref>{{Cite web|url=http://elektronik.nmp24.de/downloads/Soccerbot_Bauanleitung.pdf|title=RC-SOCCERBOT|website=elektronik.nmp24.de}}</ref>
