# Snowgoose

**Snowgoose** is a Scottish, [Glasgow](/source/Glasgow)-based [folk rock](/source/Folk_rock) band. The band was formed as a three-piece with Jim McCulloch (formerly of [The Soup Dragons](/source/The_Soup_Dragons) and [BMX Bandits](/source/BMX_Bandits_(band))) on [guitar](/source/Guitar), Dave McGowan on [bass](/source/Bass_guitar) and Anna Sheard on vocals. [Raymond McGinley](/source/Raymond_McGinley) (guitar, of [Teenage Fanclub](/source/Teenage_Fanclub)) and Stuart Kidd (drums, of [Euros Childs](/source/Euros_Childs)'s band and BMX Bandits) joined to make the band a five-piece.[1][2] The debut album *Harmony Springs* was released on [vinyl](/source/Gramophone_record) (with [download](/source/Music_download) code) on 21 April 2012 as part of [Record Store Day](/source/Record_Store_Day). A [CD](/source/Compact_disc) and download release followed on 12 November 2012. The album was recorded in [Norfolk](/source/Norfolk), and at McGinley's studio in Glasgow, and features guest appearances from [Norman Blake](/source/Norman_Blake_(Scottish_musician)), [John McCusker](/source/John_McCusker), Dave McCluskey (of [The Bluebells](/source/The_Bluebells)), and Peter Domberknowsky (of [Giant Sand](/source/Giant_Sand)).[1]

A follow-up album, *The Making of You*, was released in July 2020.[3]
