== History ==
Snell Valley was part of [Rancho Guenoc](/source/Rancho_Guenoc) when it was deeded as part of a [Mexican land grant](/source/Ranchos_of_California) in 1845. In August 2020, Snell Valley was evacuated due to the [Hennessey Fire](/source/LNU_Lightning_Complex_fires), which burned of over {{Convert|315,000|acre|ha|0|abbr=on}} in five counties, including in Snell Valley.<ref name="CALFIRE">{{cite web|title=Hennessey Fire Information|url=https://www.fire.ca.gov/incidents/2020/8/17/hennessey-fire/ |website=CAL FIRE |accessdate=17 August 2020}}</ref>
