# Snartemo

**Snartemo** is a village in [Hægebostad](/source/H%C3%A6gebostad) municipality in [Agder](/source/Agder) county, [Norway](/source/Norway). The village is located in a fairly narrow valley along the river [Lygna](/source/Lygna), about 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) south of the municipal centre of [Tingvatn](/source/Tingvatn). Snartemo has a population of 118 in 2015.[1] There are historic archeological sites located in Snartemo. [Hægebostad Church](/source/H%C3%A6gebostad_Church), built in 1844, is located in Snartemo.[2]

The village is served by [Snartemo Station](/source/Snartemo_Station) on the [Sørlandet Line](/source/S%C3%B8rlandet_Line), the only railway station in the municipality.[3] The station is located in a valley between the [Hægebostad Tunnel](/source/H%C3%A6gebostad_Tunnel) to the east and [Kvineshei Tunnel](/source/Kvineshei_Tunnel) to the west. These tunnels are 8,474 meters (27,802 ft) and 9,065 meters (29,741 ft) length, respectively, and the fifth and fourth-longest railway tunnels on the [railway network in Norway](/source/Rail_transport_in_Norway).[4]
