# Snake handler

A **snake handler** is a person who professionally handles and works with [snakes](/source/Snake). Snake handlers typically work in [snake farms](/source/Snake_farm) alongside [herpetologists](/source/Herpetologist), and as [zookeepers](/source/Zookeeper) and in [animal control services](/source/Animal_control_service). Snake-handling skills are also employed by [first responders](/source/First_responder), [park rangers](/source/Park_ranger), and military personnel.
