==History==
Mike Kamerman, from [Marlboro, New Jersey](/source/Marlboro%2C_New_Jersey), and Sean Scanlon, from [Verplanck, New York](/source/Verplanck%2C_New_York), had been playing in various bands since 2007. After relocating to [Los Angeles](/source/Los_Angeles) to further their musical careers, they met [Oregon](/source/Oregon) natives Joe Intile and Beau Kuther. Working with producer trio [Captain Cuts](/source/Captain_Cuts), the band released their debut single "[Dreaming](/source/Dreaming_(Smallpools_song))" online on May 16, 2013,<ref>{{cite web|url=http://neongoldrecords.blogspot.com/2013/05/maybe-we-could-last-forever.html |title=Neon Gold Beat Company: MAYBE WE COULD LAST FOREVER |publisher=Neongoldrecords.blogspot.com |date=May 16, 2013 |accessdate=September 1, 2013}}</ref> reaching No. 23 on ''Billboard''{{'}}s Alternative Songs chart.<ref name="billboard1"/> The song was released as the first single off their debut, self-titled EP. 

"Dreaming" was included on the ''[FIFA 14](/source/FIFA_14)'' soundtrack. They made their late night television debut performing "Dreaming" on ''[Jimmy Kimmel Live!](/source/Jimmy_Kimmel_Live!)'' on October 28, 2013.{{citation needed|date=May 2021}} The band and their song "Over & Over" were featured in a promotional video for [Snapchat](/source/Snapchat), introducing Snapchat Stories in October 2013. The band released their first full-length album, ''[Lovetap!](/source/Lovetap!)'', on March 23, 2015. On December 1, 2016 the band announced a new single to be released titled "RUN WITH THE BULLS." The song was accompanied with a music video via [Billboard.com](/source/Billboard.com). After parting ways with [RCA Records](/source/RCA_Records), the band partnered with [AWAL](/source/AWAL) / [Kobalt Music Group](/source/Kobalt_Music_Group) and released "The Science of Letting Go" on August 4, 2017 followed up by the "So Social" EP on December 7, 2018. Collectively, the two EP's have generated over 100 million streams on [Spotify](/source/Spotify). Smallpools released their sophomore album titled "Life In A Simulation" on October 15, 2021.

The band's third album, ''Cameras & Coastlines & Covers'', released on August 11, 2023. It was followed up with an EP titled ''Ghost Town Road (east)'', which was then expanded as a studio album titled ''Ghost Town Road''.

==Touring==

On March 26, 2014, it was announced that Smallpools would perform at [Lollapalooza](/source/Lollapalooza) on August 2, the second day of the three-day festival.
On May 8, 2015, Smallpools performed on the main stage at the [Rock in Rio USA](/source/Rock_in_Rio_USA) in [Las Vegas](/source/Las_Vegas), [Nevada](/source/Nevada). The band has also graced the stage at [Firefly Music Festival](/source/Firefly_Music_Festival) twice, gathering large eager crowds in both 2014 and 2018. In 2015 Smallpools embarked on 2 sold out headlining tours (LOVETAP! Tour & The American Love Tour) in support of their [RCA](/source/RCA_Corporation) debut album 'LOVETAP!'. Smallpools supported [MisterWives](/source/MisterWives) on their 2017 'Connect the Dots' tour and in 2018 they co-headlined the 'Spring is Sprung' tour with [Great Good Fine Ok](/source/Great_Good_Fine_Ok). 

In 2019, Smallpools hit the road on their 'So Social' tour which included sold out nights at the [9:30 Club](/source/9%3A30_Club) in [Washington, D.C.](/source/Washington%2C_D.C.), [Bowery Ballroom](/source/Bowery_Ballroom) in [New York City](/source/New_York_City), and the [Bluebird Theatre](/source/Bluebird_Theatre) in [Denver](/source/Denver). Smallpools finished off the year supporting [Third Eye Blind](/source/Third_Eye_Blind) on their "Screamer" tour.
