**Sirmour Assembly constituency** (or **Sirmaur**) is one of the 230 [Vidhan Sabha](/source/Madhya_Pradesh_Vidhan_Sabha) (Legislative Assembly) constituencies of [Madhya Pradesh](/source/Madhya_Pradesh) state in central [India](/source/India).[1] This constituency came into existence in 1951, as one of the 48 Vidhan Sabha constituencies of the erstwhile [Vindhya Pradesh](/source/Vindhya_Pradesh) state.[2]

## Overview

Sirmour (constituency number 68) is one of the eight Vidhan Sabha constituencies located in [Rewa district](/source/Rewa_district). This constituency comprises Sirmour Revenue Inspector's (R.I.) circle of Sirmour [tehsil](/source/Tehsil), [Sirmaur](/source/Sirmaur%2C_Rewa) nagar panchayat, [Baikunthpur](/source/Baikunthpur%2C_Rewa) nagar panchayat and [Dabhaura](/source/Dabhaura) and Jawa R.I. circles of Teonthar tehsil.[3]
