***Siphulella*** is a fungal [genus](/source/Genus) in the family [Icmadophilaceae](/source/Icmadophilaceae). The genus is [monotypic](/source/Monotypic), containing the single [lichen](/source/Lichen) species ***Siphulella coralloidea***, found in southwest [Tasmania](/source/Tasmania).[1] The genus and species were described as new to science in 1992 by [Gintaras Kantvilas](/source/Gintaras_Kantvilas), [John Elix](/source/John_Alan_Elix) and [Peter James](/source/Peter_Wilfred_James). The genus name is based on the superficial resemblance that *S. coralloidea* has to some species in the genus *[Siphula](/source/Siphula)*.[2]
