He played [college football](/source/College_football) for the [UConn Huskies](/source/UConn_Huskies_football). Moore was selected by the [Oakland Raiders](/source/Oakland_Raiders) in the third round of the [2013 NFL draft](/source/2013_NFL_draft). He was also a member of the [Indianapolis Colts](/source/Indianapolis_Colts), [Kansas City Chiefs](/source/Kansas_City_Chiefs), [Arizona Cardinals](/source/Arizona_Cardinals), and [Houston Texans](/source/Houston_Texans). ## Early life Moore was born in [Liberia](/source/Liberia) in [West Africa](/source/West_Africa), and moved to the [West Haven, Connecticut](/source/West_Haven,_Connecticut) when he was a child.[1] He attended [Apex High School](/source/Apex_High_School) in [Apex, North Carolina](/source/Apex,_North_Carolina), where he was a letterman in [football](/source/High_school_football) and [track](/source/Track_and_field). He played [football](/source/High_school_football) as a [linebacker](/source/Linebacker), [running back](/source/Running_back) and [fullback](/source/Fullback_(gridiron_football)). He earned All-area and All-Tri Seven Football League honors as a fullback and linebacker as a senior. Prior to signing with [Connecticut](/source/Connecticut_Huskies_football), Moore made a visit to their summer camp in [Storrs, Connecticut](/source/Storrs,_Connecticut), where he was timed at 4.54 in the [40-yard dash](/source/40-yard_dash), 4.41 in the [short shuttle](/source/20-yard_shuttle), had a 38.5-inch (99 cm) [vertical jump](/source/Vertical_jump), [broad jumped](/source/Broad_jump) 10-foot-2 (3.13 m) and ran the [100-meter dash](/source/100-meter_dash) in 11.1 seconds.[2] Regarded only as a two-star prospect grade by both *[Rivals.com](/source/Rivals.com)* and *[Scout.com](/source/Scout.com)*, Moore was ranked No. 50 among the nation’s weak-side linebackers. He signed his national letter of intent to attend Connecticut on 12 July 2007.[3] ## College career While attending the [University of Connecticut](/source/University_of_Connecticut), he played for the [Connecticut Huskies football](/source/Connecticut_Huskies_football) team from 2008 to 2012. During his college career, he totaled 274 tackles, 16 [quarterback sacks](/source/Quarterback_sack) and four [interceptions](/source/Interception). Following his senior season in 2012, he was a first-team All-[Big East Conference](/source/Big_East_Conference_(1979%E2%80%932013)) selection and was invited to play in both the [East-West Shrine Game](/source/East-West_Shrine_Game) and the [Senior Bowl](/source/Senior_Bowl).[4] ## Professional career ### Oakland Raiders Moore was selected by the [Oakland Raiders](/source/Oakland_Raiders) in the third round, with the 66th overall pick, of the [2013 NFL draft](/source/2013_NFL_draft).[5] On 27 October 2013, Moore picked up 2 sacks and 5 tackles in a 21-18 win against the [Pittsburgh Steelers](/source/Pittsburgh_Steelers).
