'''Simon Watney''' (born 1949) is a British writer, [art historian](/source/art_historian), and [AIDS](/source/AIDS) [activist](/source/activist).

He studied art history at the [University of Sussex](/source/University_of_Sussex), and then at the [Courtauld Institute](/source/Courtauld_Institute) in London. 

He lectured in Aesthetics and Communications at the Polytechnic of Central London, now the [University of Westminster](/source/University_of_Westminster).
