# Simon Keswick

**Simon Lindley Keswick** [FRSA](/source/FRSA) (born 20 May 1942)[1] is a Scottish businessman and the younger brother of [Sir Chips Keswick](/source/Chips_Keswick) and [Sir Henry Keswick](/source/Henry_Keswick_(businessman)).

## Early life and education

Part of the [Keswick family](/source/Keswick_family) business dynasty, he is the son of [Sir William Johnstone "Tony" Keswick](/source/Tony_Keswick) and Mary Lindley, and the grandson of [Henry Keswick](/source/Henry_Keswick_(MP)). He was educated at [Eton College](/source/Eton_College) and [Trinity College, Cambridge](/source/Trinity_College,_Cambridge).[1]

## Career

He is a director of [Matheson & Co.](/source/Matheson_%26_Co.)(owned by [Jardine Matheson Holdings](/source/Jardine_Matheson_Holdings)) and various other Jardine Matheson affiliated businesses including the [Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group](/source/Mandarin_Oriental_Hotel_Group). He was previously Chairman of the [Kwik Save](/source/Kwik_Save) Group plc.[1]

A [Cheltenham Town](/source/Cheltenham_Town_F.C.) supporter, he was a director on the club's board until resigning in January 2009.[2] However he remains the club largest shareholder despite playing a less public role.

## Political activity

Keswick donated £100,000 to the [Conservative Party](/source/Conservative_Party_(UK)) during the [2019 United Kingdom general election](/source/2019_United_Kingdom_general_election).[3] He also donated £2,000 to the [Foreign Secretary](/source/Foreign_Secretary_(United_Kingdom)), [Dominic Raab](/source/Dominic_Raab).[4]

## Personal life

In 1971, he married Emma Chetwode, daughter of Major [George David Chetwode](/source/George_Chetwode_(cricketer)) and Lady Willa Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound. They have two sons and two daughters.[1]
